“SASSENACH”

Capturing moments in the very setting that brought Inverness to life in the series, our photoshoot offers to step into the captivating world of 1940s Claire. Recreate your own portrayal of Claire in the very first episode "Sassenach" of the Outlander TV show, posing in our beautiful village of Falkland which was used to portray the 1940s city of Inverness.

Most of the scenes were filmed in the town square - just a stones throw from Vintage Quine! Claire is even seen wandering through the village past our shop to gaze in the window of the General Store where she sets her sights on that blue vase.

Wander through the charming streets of Falkland, each corner steeped in history and nostalgia. Don't worry about what to wear, it's on us! The dress may vary from pictures, but you'll adorn a gorgeous 1940s-inspired ensemble. Choose from our selection of hats and abundant accessories to add your personal touch to the experience.

Step back in time to the year 1743. Our picturesque setting in Falkland, nestled amidst heather-covered mountains, provides the perfect backdrop for your time-traveling adventure. As you pose against moss-covered dry stone walls or perch upon fallen trees, the whispers of Scottish woodlands will envelop you, adding an enchanting ambiance to your day. Whether you're adventuring solo or with your own "Jamie", we ensure that every moment is imbued with charm and allure.

“THROUGH THE STONES”

Begin your day with our signature Lady's Maid transformation, dressing you in our meticulously crafted 18th-century outfits, inspired by Claire and Jamie Fraser. We begin our photoshoot amidst the quaint cobblestone streets of Falkland's historic old town. From here we will follow a babbling brook through a magical glen and discover waterfalls and hidden nooks. Each scene offers a picturesque backdrop, perfectly capturing the essence of romance and adventure.

Culminating your adventure is a visit to towering Standing Stones, serving as the gateway to another time, where the past and present converge in a spellbinding embrace. Immerse yourself in the enchantment of the outdoors as we craft memories that transcend time itself.

• Transport between shooting locations, we will park as close to each location as possible but a bit of walking is required to reach some of the locations especially in the glen

• Enchanting experience and cherished memories

• Beware: accidental time travelling possible!

“TAKE ME HOME TO LALLYBROCH”

Come back home to Broch Tuarach, with our "Take Me Home To Lallybroch" Outlander Photoshoot Experience. This is also includes the full Lady's Maid transformation, as you are dressed in our own hand crafted 18th-century outfits. Take in the picturesque village of Falkland before we embark on a scenic 45-minute drive through the stunning Fife countryside, crossing the iconic Queensferry Crossing Bridge with breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth.

Our first destination is Midhope Castle, nestled within the Hopetoun House Estate, a historic setting that served as the Fraser clan's home in Outlander. Nearby, we'll visit Blackness Castle, featured as Fort William in the series. These remarkable locations offer exceptional backdrops for recreating iconic Outlander moments. This half-day adventure allows ample time at each location, approximately 30-45 minutes, ensuring we capture every magical moment.

After the shoot, return to Falkland to change at Vintage Quine or use our portable tent for privacy, then relax as we transport you to Inverkeithing train station for convenient connections to Edinburgh and beyond.

• Entrance tickets to Midhope Castle grounds (Please note that access to the interior of the castle is not available; however, the surrounding grounds provide a captivating backdrop for your photoshoot experience)

• 30 minute photoshoot in Midhope Castle (Lallybroch)

• 30 minute photoshoot near Blackness Castle. Please note that we can't shoot on its territory as that requires a rather expensive permission from National Trust, but we are free to roam on the beach and have the castle as our background

  (While the time slots may seem brief, this is a good amount of time for these locations)

• Optional transport from Kirkcaldy train station. Trains from Edinburgh are frequent and take around an hour with scenic views along the route

• Transport between shooting locations, minimal walking is required from where we will park at each destination

Frequently Asked Questions

• Do you require deposits?

To confirm your booking and secure your preferred date, a non-refundable retainer fee of £100 is required. This advance payment facilitates the initial planning stages of your unforgettable experience, including reserving outfits tailored to your sizes and securing tickets, if applicable, for Midhope Castle. Additionally, it covers administrative expenses incurred in arranging your personalized session. The remaining balance of your fee is due either on the day of the shoot or within one day thereafter. We accept payments via bank transfer or PayPal for your convenience. In the event that we must cancel your shoot due to circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will provide options for rescheduling to an alternative date or selecting a different package. Alternatively, we will refund any unused portion of your retainer fee promptly. Your satisfaction and peace of mind are our utmost priorities, and we are committed to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for you.

• Will there be time for lunch?

Following your "Sassenach" or "Dragonfly in Amber" experience, you have the option to indulge in refreshments at a nearby café in Falkland, offering a selection of food and snacks. Additionally, during the "Through the Stones" and “Take Me Home To Lallybroch” adventures, there will be opportunities for breaks. However, we recommend bringing your own snacks and water to ensure you remain comfortable throughout your photography session.

• Do the shoots require long walks?

The "Through the Stones" experience encompasses a moderate walk, approximately 40 minutes each way, within the glen, with an additional 10-minute stroll from the parking lot to the stones. The other packages entail minimal walking beyond the duration of the actual photoshoot.

• What if it rains?

Believe it or not, a few of the stunning shots you've seen were captured amidst gentle rain showers. While I'm more than happy to proceed with the photoshoot in light rain, your comfort and safety are my top priorities. My capable assistant, Anya, will be equipped with umbrellas to ensure we can still capture beautiful moments. However, if weather conditions escalate to stormy winds, l strongly advise postponing the shoot.

• Do you provide hair & makeup for the shoot?

We provide your complete outfit and accessories on the day of your shoot, but if you would like the full transformation into 1940s or 1740s Claire we suggest that you consider contacting the below professionals that we have worked with personally. We ask that you schedule your appointments for hair & makeup early in the day, with plenty of time to travel for your photoshoot.
